My Review of Jeff Anderson’s Optimum Anabolics Program

Hey, you know what, I used to be just like you.

When I started working out, I was hitting the gym hard, working out 6 or 7 times a week. I wanted to gain muscle and to get a good looking body – you know, the types that the girl’s notice.

So I worked out hard, I followed the advice of friends, and the advice of the other guys at the gym. And heck, I even followed the advice of the gym instructor.

But you know what the problem was? After 9 or 10 months of solid training, I was still the skinny guy I was before. I was disappointed to say the least. I just wanted a good looking body like the other guys had, not the puny body that I’ve always had..

I knew that I just wasn’t doing my training the right way.

And it wasn’t that I didn’t work out hard. I mean I was working out real hard and still didn’t get the results to show for it.

That’s when I started searching on the internet to find bodybuilding sites and ebooks.

And I realised that it wasn’t me that had this problem. This was a problem that many guys had, and their biggest problems were that they couldn’t gain muscle easily (like me) or couldn’t lose the fat (which happens as you build muscle).

So I bought heaps of them. And I tried them. And it was when I used one particular program, that I started putting on muscle.

And it didn’t take 12 weeks to notice the first changes. I noticed my muscles responding within about 2 weeks.

I gained inches on my chest, back and arms real quick. He calls it a "revolutionary new training technique". So, what do I think?

Well, I was particularly impressed by this ebook, because as a result of it:

1. I no longer have to spend 6 to 7 hours at the gym.

My gym time halved, and I was seeing (literally seeing) results.

In fact, the time I spent at the gym with Jeff’s workout program, was about 2 and a half, to 3 hours a week.

And I gained 4 pounds of muscle in the first 2 weeks, and I was using a fat monitor scale to confirm this.

But I didn’t need it really as I could tell the difference just by looking in the mirror. Yep, I was pretty pleased (and bit surprised actually) by this.

No, this is not dependent on supplements.

The reason why Jeff’s system causes you to gain muscle in about half the time working out the gym, is that he uses a set of workouts with “supersets”. But it’s not the same way supersets are normally done!

The supersets are ordered in such a way that it “prefatigues” the bigger muscle groups that need more work, before working out the entire group of muscles.

And there’s the very important fact that doing these supersets uses what’s called “active recovery” to stimulate the muscle to grow. Doing supersets this way stimulates the muscles to grow fast.

I also found that the repetitions that he suggests in his program are much more sensible than the other programs I’ve tried, and gives the best “pump”. You’ll find out why this is causes muscle growth. My favourite is about 10-15 reps in the middle set .

But don’t worry about these words. It’s all dead simple to understand, especially the way Jeff explains it.

The bottom line is, that when I started using these supersets, my muscle just started building.

2. I was also impressed by the fact that when you do Jeff’s workout, that you’ll realise that the workout changes in intensity (reps and sets) in a specific way that natural bodybuilders use everyday (that we don’t), that makes your muscles grow much more than you have done before.

And Jeff gives a very clear explanation as to why this specific technique works to cause your muscles to grow rapidly. It is due to how these workouts change every week that stimulates the natural hormones to be produced in your body to stimulates fast muscle growth.

This is where most guys who try to build muscle and fail, have got it all wrong (hey, I've been there and done that!).

They steadily increase their weights over their typical 12 week program and work out harder and harder. And guess what, they end up where I was. One year at the gym and no results! Don’t let that happen to you.

But it’s not just this factor of surprising and stimulating your muscles with his specific workout plan.

3. You also learn exactly how to workout your protein intake, AND how this has to change week by week. This, in combination with the varying intensity of workout, is another thing that most impressed me.

And it’s not by just eating a high protein diet.

This is also where I got it wrong, following the advice of websites and careless comments by amateur bodybuilders and guys at the gym.

I’ve learnt in Jeff’s book exactly how to vary your protein intake week by week, at the right time to correspond to the workout routine, and exactly how this works to stimulate muscle growth.

Don’t worry, you’ll get precise calculations for your body weight and type as to how much protein to take, and more importantly, when to take it (and what percentage of your daily protein intake you should take after workouts.

Now I take less whey protein overall – and I’m gaining more muscle.

Who should get this ebook?

I’d say that Jeff’s ebook is for everyone who wants to avoid months and months of trying to gain muscle and having little or no results.

If you’ve already tried other bodybuilding ebooks and have hit a plateaux, and can’t seem to get any further no matter what you do, then this program is suitable for you. I was in both the above situations when I used Jeff’s book.

If you’re new to bodybuilding, then this is an ideal start.

If you want to just get results now rather than mess around for months (and waste hours at the gym) then it’s for you too.

Who shouldn’t get this ebook?

Well, the only weakness I found so far in the program is that there aren’t many pictures of the workout exercises themselves. So if you’re really new to training, you’ll need to hunt around the net for some videos or pictures.

Having said this, Jeff does describe in detail the way to properly do all the moves in his program. So you’ll know how to do the moves to get the best muscle pump just by reading it anyway.

Overall, this ebook is great value for money for anyone who wants to build a great body, and to do it now.

As I said, I noticed changes within about 2 weeks. And within 12 weeks, the improvements just came on more and more.

Now, I only go to the gym 2.5 to 3 hours a week (compared to the 7 to 10 hours I did before) and my body is looking the best it’s ever been.

Even a puny guy like me can do it, so I say anyone else can too.

Like I said, I’ve tried everything.
